|Join me in my efforts to support CureSearch for Children's Cancer!|
|Welcome to my fundraising page. My name is Darina Bender and I feel very passionate about helping others, especially children diagnosed with cancer. I am raising funds for children's cancer research through my physical achievements. With your help, I know that I can surpass my personal goal. |
Utilizing my time, physical strengths and achievements to raise funds, I cycle well over 600 miles annually in the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina (along famous Blue Ridge Parkway). This summer, I've also cycled 100 miles around Lake George, New York (Prospect Mountain). I feel strongly driven to surpass the 600 mile achievement in 2015 and I hope that with your help we can all help others in our own ways chosen. Please donate for each mile of my cycles. You will make tremendous difference in others live's. None of my cycles have ever been easy; I've cycled up Mt. Mitchell 8 times in 2013; many times I did cycle through very heavy and dangerous thunderstorms; all achieved on this old road bike.
The money I raise goes directly to support TeamCureSearch for children's cancer, one of America's largest non-profit foundations whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children's cancer research. In addition, TeamCure is authoritative source for information resources about children's cancer for families and their support systems.
Every day, 42 children are diagnosed with pediatric cancer. Cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease in children. We fight for the future every child deserves and every parent dreams of.
I would like to dedicate my fundraising page to little Jamie Lynn Saunders and Bill Richards. I would like to thank my family, supporters and all the incredible people I meet on the parkway while cycling; some gave me water when I ran out, so many thanks to all. Every single one of you have and keep on inspiring me to the greatest levels.
I'd love to raise $2.500, so I can join incredible and extremely challenging hike to Mt. Kilimanjaro with Make A Wish Team in Australia in 2015.
Thank You for any support given. It is greatly appreciated.
